The EPA is seeking public comment on recently released proposed changes to the record

of decision (ROD) for the Anaconda Smelter Superfund site.

The original ROD came out in 1998 and in the years since, the drinking water standard for arsenic in groundwater has been lowered, prompting the EPA to revisit the earlier decision.

Changes to the ROD will be explained at a public meeting to be held at the Metcalf Senior Center in Anaconda on Thursday Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Written public comment will be accepted until December 31.

See the EPA's brochure on the ROD changes (PDF 1.5 MB)  or visit the Arrowhead Foundation website, the technical advisory group for the Anaconda Superfund site.
